Applications for Adult summer programs in creative writing, humanities, music, theatre, and visual arts are now being accepted through The application deadline for all summer programs is May 15. Notification of results will be sent by email on a rolling basis. 

Applications for Mayapple’s artist residency, study abroad program, and youth programs will be accepted throughout the year, starting on August 1, through Slideroom.

Mayapple is an all-inclusive center, welcoming all artists and scholars to apply for admission. Mayapple does not discriminate in its programs against anyone on the basis of race, creed, religion, national origin, age, gender, gender identification, sexual orientation, disability, medical status, veteran status, ancestry, education, or economic status.

Drugs prohibited by law are strictly forbidden at Mayapple; tobacco use is not permitted on campus.

Mayapple operates on imagination and creativity, and hinges on the principle of ahimsa, or compassionate thought, word, and deed. 

Admissions Requirements

Application requirements are listed in the slideroom portal, and they include: a letter of intent, two references, and samples of your work. Work samples vary depending on the individual requirements of each of the five disciplines, and they may be submitted in a variety of forms, including PDF files, MP3 files, etc.

Prospective applicants who are accepted to our adult programs must adhere to our admissions policy, be 18 years of age or older, and have two years of college experience.
